Coraline (PREORDER)

A weathered, desaturated pink-mauve, uneven in tone like the sun-bleached, rain-faded paint of the Pink Palace Apartments. Soft blushes and muted mauves fade into pale rose-beige patches, echoing the painted panels’ years of neglect. It’s this dilapidated fairytale setting that makes Coraline crave the brighter, more vivid, and more attentive universe she finds on the other side of the mysterious door she discovers in her new home

• On our wool superwash bases: the mauves, pinks, and pale splotches are a little higher contrast, particularly on the bigger bases 
• On our wool non-superwash bases: the pink-mauve is a bit paler, taking on a powdery, almost dusty quality, as though a bright fog has rolled in
• On our two yak-wool blend bases (Josie Noir and Monica Noir): the pink leans a bit more into a sandy, deep purple-mauve gray

ABOUT 

“Coraline”

Made by acclaimed stop-motion animation studio Laika, which just happens located just outside Portland! “Coraline” follows a curious young girl who discovers a hidden door in her new home, leading to a seemingly perfect “Other World” that mirrors her own—but with more attentive parents and magical wonders. However, Coraline soon realizes the Other Mother’s sinister intentions and must use her courage and cleverness to save herself, her real parents, and the souls of other trapped children before it’s too late.

LIMINAL?

Coraline literally finds a secret passageway that leads to an alternate version of her own life! This alternate world feels familiar enough to be comforting, but also subtly wrong and increasingly threatening. The Other World that she finds at the end of this tunnel is a distorted mirror of the home she knows, and the Other Mother makes ordinary domestic warmth feel like something artificial and controlling…especially through her uncanny button eyes. 🪡🧵

All yarn is gently and thoroughly washed and rinsed. Each skein is lovingly hand-dyed, which makes them all unique, even in the same dye lot. Please also be mindful that upon first wash, a little dye may bleed.

We have done our best to accurately capture the colors of this colorway, however, colors may vary slightly.
