Small batch hand-dyed yarn from Portland, Oregon

Inspired by horror movies, mysterious media, and the beautifully bizarre

Conjuring thrills and chills through eerily cinematic colorways on unique wool and plant bases

  • Savannah Rose Handmade “& Co” :) is where a love of horror movies and the fiber arts come together. Every skein is lovingly hand-dyed by me, Savannah, and my partner Colin in our pet-free, smoke-free, little studio in Portland, Oregon. 🌲🦉‍ ‍

We dye yarn inspired by scary films, cult classics, and all things eerie and beautiful. Each colorway captures the mood and atmosphere scary cinema…

    • from striking final girls (like our “May Queen” and “Pearl” colorways),
    • to creepy forests (like our “Douglas Firs” colorway from our annual Twin Peaks collection),
    • to neon-lit nightmares (“Activator” from our The Substance collection)
    • and blood-streaked clothing (our new “Companion” inspired colorway)

We’re always crafting up new colorways in our cauldron and are happy you’re here to peruse our spooky skeins!

  • Whether you’re into cozy gothic vibes, modern horror flair, or just want cool and interesting colors for your project, welcome!

We mainly do seasonal, exclusive collection preorders themed off of specific films, our favorite directors, or nostalgic spooky vibes.

We aren’t able to offer in-stock yarn at all times, due to inventory, but we do occasionally have big, limited, in-stock updates that most often happen towards the end of a collection’s fulfillment period.
Sign up for our emails (at the bottom of this homepage) so you can get an updates when those sales happen!

One thing we are proud of is the wide range of yarn bases we have! From wool bases to plant bases, superwash to non-superwash, linen blends to bases with the added touch of nylon, we offer a bunch of options to help you find the right texture, drape, and personality for your projects.

We’re always happy to help you find the right base, if you ever have any questions. :)

  • While the theme of horror movies is certainly a fun way for us to connect with fellow fiber enthusiasts who also happen to be fans of the horror movie genre, we aim to make our colorways appealing and desirable for even those who haven’t seen the films whose colors we’re inspired by.

So whether you’re here for the collision of fiber arts and cinema, or just want to infuse your next project with some novel and inspired colors, you’ve come to the right place!

  • As with all small-batch dyeing, there may be slight color variation, however we take the following steps to achieve the best possible consistency; all matching skeins within each order are:

    • Dyed on the same dyeing day

    • Crafted by the same dyer (either Savannah or Colin, depending on the colorway)

    • In the same or adjacent batches

    • Made with yarn from the same lot number

    • Dyed with dyes from the same lot number

    • Hand-matched after dyeing
