Inspired by the film โBones and Allโ
This beautiful and haunting film from Luca Guardagnino (who also directed the โSuspiriaโ remake in 2018) follows Maren (Taylor Russel), and Lee (Timothรฉe Chalamet) two young cannibals who embark on a haunting road trip across America, drawn together by love and hunger as they search for belonging while living on the fringes of society.
Though not about a formal cult, Bones and All explores a hidden subculture of โeaters,โ cannibals living on the fringes of society. As Maren and Lee are drawn deeper into this world and meet others like them, it evokes the cultish pull of belonging through shared transgression and alienation.
The subtly haunting warmth of this movieโs pallete helps convey both the infatuation the characterโs feel and the bleakness of their descent into craven degeneracy.
