In one of the most intense and memorable scenes of “The Substance,” Elisabeth Sparkle finds herself in a self-destructive stalemate as she gets ready for a date, but repeatedly stops, just as she’s a about to leave, grappling with her deteriorating self image and worsening dysmorphia, culminating in a painfully wild lipstick-smearing meltdown.
This colorway is an homage to the movie’s theme of fading and degrading romanticism of the self-image, as well as the chaos and carnage of the destruction of both the ego and bodily flesh.
🥀 🥀 A little behind the scenes tidbit: the first experiment we did of this colorway involved trying out dye remover! For this final version, instead of using dye remover, we developed a two-stage dyeing technique that accomplishes even more chaos and contrast 🔥

Important Yarn Details ↓
• All yarn is gently washed and rinsed. Each skein is lovingly hand-dyed, which makes them all unique. Please be mindful that upon first wash, a little dye may bleed, just like a good new pair of jeans! Even though many of these bases are superwash merino wool, I still recommend hand washing to prolong the life of your yarn/garments!
• I have done my best to accurately capture the colors of the skein, however, colors may vary slightly.
• Swatch shown is knit with my Donna DK base.
