The Grandmother (wool bases) π΅π»
A playfully disturbed blend of expired film colors: sickly algal blue-green and haunting lilac, emerging from a murky gray backdrop. A smattering of monarch orange and crimson speckles pays homage to the kind of quaint bouquet a child might lovingly gather for their grandmother. πποΈ
The Grandmother (1970) is one of David Lynchβs first films; itβs a surreal, atmospheric, and mostly silent experimental 33 minute film that tells the story of a young boy trapped in an abusive, loveless home. Isolated and desperate for kindness, he plants a mysterious seed that grows into a living grandmother β a figure of warmth and protection in an otherwise brutal environment.
Using a mix of live-action and unsettling animation, Lynch crafts a nightmarish vision of childhood trauma, but within the darkness, he fosters a fragile sense of hope: the idea that even in the most desolate circumstances, something nurturing and good can still take root. π₯Ή
I love this film for the way it surprises with moments of genuine warmth, buried within its eerie, expressionistic world. π€

Important Yarn Details β
β’ All yarn is gently washed and rinsed. Each skein is lovingly hand-dyed, which makes them all unique. Please be mindful that upon first wash, a little dye may bleed, just like a good new pair of jeans! Even though many of these bases are superwash merino wool, I still recommend hand washing to prolong the life of your yarn/garments
β’ I have done my best to accurately capture the colors of the skein, however, colors may vary slightly

(Machine wash cool & gentle, dry flat)
π A new in-between season favorite! The linen in this blend adds some natural strength and earthy luster while also helping resist piling. It also has a really nice, creepy-cobwebby look since the linen doesnβt really take on much dye. This yarn base has a great fluid, elegant drape that works well for lightweight sweaters, shawls, or other neutral weather knits.
ββ
Lana BFL Sock (High Twist - 2 ply)
80% Superwash Blue Faced Leicester Wool, 20% Nylon

100 grams
(Machine wash cool & gentle, dry flat)
π Bluefaced Leicester a special breed of English sheep with wool that is strong, resists pilling, and dyes beautifully. Drier and somewhat coarser feeling than superwash merino, with a more structured drape. Great for projects that could use some extra resilience and radiance.

π Named for its ghostly aura, this new yarn base takes the dye in a beautifully muted way, give each skein a vintage flair. Thanks to its 18.5 micron merino, this yarn is really soft for being a non-superwash blend. Itβs a new favorite here for sure!
