The Owls are Not What They Seem (Twin Peaks) (plant bases) 🦉
An ombré of root beer brown to golden tan with an otherworldly deep purple hue that lurks in the shadows. Like the owls of Ghostwood Forest, this colorway is oddly familiar, yet not what it seems…
One of the most iconic lines from Twin Peaks comes from a puzzling scene in the first episode of season two…a giant appears in front of Special Agent Dale Cooper and gives him three cryptic messages, one of which is “the owls are not what they seem…” 🪹🌑
This phrase serves as a chilling symbol of the town of Twin Peaks’ hidden, supernatural forces and the deceptive nature of reality. On the surface, owls—creatures typically associated with wisdom and mystery—appear benign, but in the world of Twin Peaks, they are ominous watchers tied to the malevolent entities of the Black Lodge. 🔺🔺
This phrase warns viewers and characters alike that the truth is obscured by illusion, and that danger often wears a familiar face. It encapsulates the show’s overarching theme: that beneath the surface of small-town Americana lies a disturbing and otherworldly darkness. 🌌
Owls are my favorite animals and I am so happy to be commemorating them and this cryptically beautiful theme of Twin Peaks into this all new colorway.
This collection is a preorder 🧶
Turnaround time is estimated to be 4-8 weeks 🗓️
We aim to fulfill orders roughly in the order that they are placed 🎞️

Please read the yarn details ↓
• All yarn is gently washed and rinsed. Each skein is lovingly hand-dyed, which makes them all unique, even in the same dye lot. Please be mindful that upon first wash, a little dye may bleed.
• I have done my best to accurately capture the colors of the skein, however, colors may vary slightly.
• Swatch shown is knit with Aster Sock/Fingering
